On the team, and on her first big wall expedition, was young Cumbrian climber, and fellow Berghaus athlete, Anna Taylor. Leo, Anna and the crew were guided through the jungle to the base of Roraima by Edward James and colleagues from the indigenous Akawaio people. For most porters on western expeditions, that was where their journey would have ended, but not this time. House of the Gods tells the story of how the Akawaio supported Leo, Anna and team through the jungle, and how they then committed to helping Edward reach the summit.
